Could your weight loss motivation use a boost? I'll give you 3 tips!


The first few months of the year are already over. Maybe you started with good courage, but you notice that the focus on healthy living has diminished somewhat since then. It may also be that you have successfully lost weight before, but that the lost kilos have slowly been regained over time. In any case, you feel that it is time to switch that switch (again). I will give you 3 motivation tips that can certainly help you with this!

 

Tip 1: Imagine what it feels like when you reach your dream weight

 

If you have ever lost weight successfully, you know what it feels like to lose your excess weight. Your clothes fit looser, you feel your energy increase and you look in the mirror with more pleasure. Have you gained some weight again after losing weight or do you notice that your motivation has waned a bit? Then do the following exercise:

Try to vividly imagine what it would be like if you reached your dream weight. How do you feel? What are you going to do? What does your reflection look like? Try to make this image as clear as possible for yourself. By writing it down and reading it regularly you will strengthen the effect of this exercise even more.

 

Tip 2: Focus not only on the end result, but also on the road to it

 

It's incredibly tempting to just think about that ideal weight or clothing size that you would eventually like to fit into. However, to stay motivated, it is very important that you also set achievable goals for yourself in the meantime. Goals that help you achieve that end result step by step. By achieving your intermediate goals, you will achieve success experiences on the way to your final goal. And that is what keeps your motivation high and keeps you from slacking off. Intermediate goals also make the final goal 'manageable', especially if you want to lose much more than a few kilos.

 

Tip 3: Get help for insight and support

 

Sometimes you just can't do it all yourself. Don't be ashamed, because you are far from the only one. It can help if someone watches you who helps you discover your pitfalls and take new steps to work towards your ultimate goal: achieving and maintaining a slimmer and healthier body. Daring to face this and taking the step towards appropriate help is not only smart, but also incredibly cool!
